Technology - The Difference

How are the TomoTherapy and Radixact Systems different than conventional radiation therapy systems?

Precision Through Unique Delivery Modes

The TomoTherapy® System is the only radiation system specifically designed for IG-IMRT. Leveraging a CT scanner-based platform, TomoHelical™ Mode enables continuous delivery from 360 degrees around the patient with highly conformal and homogeneous dose to the tumor. A clinician can also choose to deliver treatment from specific fixed angles via TomoDirect™ Mode.

Precision Through Daily Imaging

The TomoTherapy System is designed to accommodate all forms of patient and tumor motion with daily imaging. The TomoTherapy System uses daily CTrue™ imaging to guide the treatment each day – so doctors can continually adjust patient treatment based on even the smallest changes in patient anatomy.

Radixact™ Treatment Delivery System

The Radixact™ Treatment Delivery System is the next generation TomoTherapy platform, designed to enable doctors to more efficiently and effectively deliver precise radiation treatments to more patients.

The new Radixact System is a uniquely smart radiation therapy system that enables optimal treatment for more patients.

The new Radixact System features fully integrated treatment delivery, treatment planning and data management systems. All of these highly advanced system components work together seamlessly to automate the most important functions  – including automation of treatment workflow processes and exportation of data to the OIS.

Designed to provide clinicians with the imaging capabilities, treatment flexibility and precise dose delivery you've come to expect with the TomoTherapy® Treatment System, with the addition of components which will significantly enhance interoperability and increase patient throughput.
